with every passing day brighton becomes a steadily more evil, desparate, miserable, narcissistic, homogenized, cliquey, ugly, vicious, nasty little town that thinks it's a city. this process is currently being accelerated by the systematic recycling of the town's pubs and live music venues into an endless series of generic cafe-bars with mandatory D-J booth. the main proponent of this erosion is the ZEL chain. recently it's come to light that both the LIFT club and the FREE BUTT pub (the only 2 place left for small bands to play) are next in line for the upgrade.

maybe it's time to move to Leeds.
